The Super Eagles defeated Liberia 2-0 in their first game of the qualifier at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

Nigeria lead the group by 9 points, followed by Cape Verde, who is on 7points, Central Africa Republic (CAR) is third with 4 points, while Liberia is last with 3 points.

Liberia, just like CAR, have been playing their home games away from home, due to the ban on their home grounds by the Confederation of African Football (CAF)

While the Lone Stars played their previous home games of the World Cup qualifiers in Accra, Ghana, CAR, have been playing in Cameroon.

Liberia have now confirmed that matchday five encounter against Nigeria will not be in Accra but Tangier, Morocco.
