Level 7 civil servant goes to jail for one year for faking level 14

Forty year old level seven civil servant, Odutola Sherifat Oyinkansola, has been sentenced to one year in prison for document forgery. 


Justice Sherifat Solebo of the Special Offences court, Ikeja high court, Lagos gave the judgment after the defendant pleaded guilty to forgery of document claiming to be a level fourteen civil servant in an attempt to stand surety for a suspect in the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), custody.


According to the charge sheet; “Odutola Sherifat Oyinkansola on about the 29th day of March 2021, at Lagos within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court forged a document titled “Letter of Introduction Miss. Odutola Sherifat Oyinkansola – Principal Data Proc. Officer GL: 14 with Reference number .MSCH/112/VOL.II/302 purportedly issued by Massey Street Children’s Hospital which you submitted to the officers of Economic and Financial Crime Commission to secure the ball of one Rasaki Wasiu Adeyiga”


Prosecuting counsel for the commission S.O Daji told the court that the defendant forged a document purporting herself to be one Rasaki Wasiu Adeyiga a level fourteen civil servant working at Massey Street Children’s Hospital while she was just a level seven civil servant.
