Super Eagles made up for the humiliating defeat they suffered in the hands of Les Fauves of Central African Republic (CAR) at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos three days ago, with a resounding 2-0 defeat of CAR at the Japoma stadium in Cameroon.

The away side , Nigeria, began the game brightly and dominated the first half like they did in Lagos, without testing Price Somalah in CAR goal.

Lean Balogun however, made up for his error which led to the goal conceded by the Super Eagles in Lagos, when he converted a cross from Chigozie Awaziem in the 29th minute of the game to give Nigeria the lead.

The host offered little in response and the Nigerian team continued to dictate proceedings until Victor Osimhen made it 2 for the visitors after an assist from William Troost-Ekong to end the first half 2-0 in favour of Nigeria.

The match continued in the same fashion in 2nd half with Super Eagles dominating possession and creating the best chances, but they were unable to add to the 2 goals scored in the first half.

Maduka Okoye, the Super Eagles keeper had little to do through out 90 minutes of the encounter as CAR only fought to make the score line respectable. The match referee brought proceedings to an end on 93rd minute.

Gernot Rohr side has now won 3 of the 4 group games played so far to earn 9 points, it leads the group with 5 points, Cape Verde is second with 4 points.
