Afrobeats singer, rapper, and Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) winner Olamilekan Agbeleshebioba, better known as Laycon, has revealed his key to self-discovery and finding inner peace.
The ‘Fall for Me’ crooner shared these insights during a recent video broadcast titled ‘Life With Laycon’.
According to the reality star, he lost his ‘inner voice’ after winning the 2020 edition of BBNaija but rediscovered it a year later.
He further explained that silence has been the consistent factor in his journey of self-discovery.
During the broadcast, Laycon asked: “Has the world ever gone silent on you and all you have left was your own thoughts?”

He continued: “I have been there and I want to share a part of that experience with you. After I won Big Brother Naija in 2020, I lost my inner voice, and the first time I heard that voice again was December 2021 after my sold-out concert, The Icons Fest.”
The rapper noted that the voice began asking searching questions: “Is this really how you want to live? Are you enjoying yourself? What’s next after this? Are you happy?”
These questions prompted him to spend time alone with his thoughts. He added, “From that conversation came a lot of necessary but uncomfortable truths and realisations about myself.”
Laycon also observed that many people fail to grow because they are afraid of embracing solitude and silence.
He pointed out that while silence may be uncomfortable, it is vital for personal development.
He went on to describe silence as a mirror that projects one’s life onto one’s thoughts, allowing for necessary amendments.
Concluding his message, he urged his fans to embrace solitude and self-reflection as a form of personal accountability.
