Everton manager, Frank Lampard, has provided the latest update on Alex Iwobi, who sustained an injury during his side’s FA Cup third-round encounter with Manchester United on Friday night at Old Trafford.
The hard-fighting Toffees suffered a 3-1 defeat in the match, as Lampard’s men went down to a goal from Antony, Conor Coady’s own-goal and a last-minute spot-kick by Marcus Rashford.
However, during the early part of the second half of the encounter, Iwobi sustained a nasty-looking injury and was taken off on a stretcher before he was replaced by Abdoulaye Doucouré.

Lampard, giving information on the extent of the damage, has now said that the Nigerian international suffered an ankle ligament injury, adding that he doesn’t know the extent of the injury.
He, however, added that he was hoping the injury is not a very bad one that would keep the midfielder out for a very long time.
Lampard said after the match said, “It’s an ankle ligament injury,”
“We are hoping it is a lesser one but I don’t know the extent of it. He left on crutches,” he added.
