Lagos govt also assured that LASTMA officials will be deployed along the affected axis to ensure free flow of vehicular movement during construction

The Lagos State Government has notified Lagosians of planned traffic diversion aimed at easing vehicular movement when the construction of the Opebi-Ojota Link Bridge inaugurated earlier in the year by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu commences.
This was contained in a statement made available by the Ministry of Transportation, where the Commissioner, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde disclosed that the construction would be in two phases and that the exercise is expected to last for 16 months.
He also revealed that the traffic diversion arrangements will be tailored to suit each phase of the planned construction.
The commissioner advised residents of the axis to use Opebi Link Road to access Tunde Osilaja Street to connect Salvation inbound Ajanaku Street and link Opebi Road through Thomas Ajufo to reach their desired destinations.

Oladeinde also indicated that a portion had been created at the Sheraton-Opebi Link Bridge to enable Motorists to make a U-turn into Opebi Road.
Alternately, the Commissioner stated that motorists could also use Toyin Street via Mobolaji Bank Anthony to link Opebi/Allen road.
“Motorists from Mende Road are equally enjoined to use Ojota Interchange and connect Opebi via Ikorodu Road inwards Aderibigbe as the underpass will be closed off to vehicular movement,” he said.
The ministry assured Lagosians that men of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA would be deployed along the affected axis during the period to ensure the free flow of vehicular movement.
The Transport Commissioner reiterated the commitment of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration to ensure the people of the state do not suffer while providing them with world class infrastructure.
He concluded by saying the alternatives will reduce travel time and improve accessibility by eliminating congestion that may hinder the free flow of traffic, adding that the end product will be satisfying and appreciated by Lagosians.
When completed the bridge will have a total length of 3.89-kilometre consisting 2,829-metre road, 276-metre deck-on-pile bridge, and 474-metre mechanically stabilised earth wall approach sections.
