It, however, promised to announce new dates for the rallies.

The statement read, “Due to some unavoidable and unusual circumstances beyond control, our earlier scheduled presidential campaign rally in Ekiti and Ondo for 15th and 16th December 2023 are hereby postponed. A new date will be announced. We regret the inconvenience caused by this.”

The postponement comes a day after the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Baba Ahmed-Datti, held a rally in Kogi State.

At the Kogi rally, Obi promised to increase the minimum wage and prioritise production over consumption if elected.

“We want to make sure that we would remove Nigeria from consumption to production. When the TUC former president was talking to you, he told you about minimum wage. We will ensure that those who are being owed, we would work with state and local governments to clear their outstanding,” he said at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja.

“We would make sure that we will work with them and when we start production, we would start thinking of how to increase the minimum wage.”
