Association of Senior Servant of Nigeria (ASCSN) has commended security operatives over the release of four directors in the Federal Ministry of Defence.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Friday and signed by its National President, Comrade Shehu Mohammed, and the Secretary-General, Comrade Joshua Apebo, the Union enjoined the Defence Ministry to intensify efforts and ensure that the remaining two Directors are released.

The Labour Leaders stated that the six (6) Directors who are members of the Association serving at the Command Day Secondary School (CDSS), Ojo, Lagos, were kidnapped on 10th November 2025 on Kaba-Lokoja highway while travelling to Abuja to sit for promotion exams and that while four (4) of them have been rescued, the remaining two (2) are yet to regain their freedom.

Those released and still undergoing medical observations are: Mrs. Helen Ezeakor. C, Mrs. Ladoye C. A, Mrs. Ngozi Ibeziakor, and Mrs. Essien Catherine O. while Mrs. Emeribe C. A. and Mrs. Onwuzurike J. A. are still missing.

The ASCSN leaders used the opportunity to reiterate its call on the Federal Government to decentralize examination and verification exercises for public service employees and ensure that these events take place in the states to reduce the security challenges workers face while travelling to Abuja and other far distances for these purposes.

They equally commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for intensifying efforts to stem insecurity in the land so that citizens could travel to various parts of the country without the fear of being kidnapped or killed.
