Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has invited PDP chieftain and ex-Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso,over allegation of pension fraud.
The 64-year-old politician was said to have been invited for questioning following a petition from some retirees.
According to Daily Trust, an official of the anti-graft agency confirmed the presence of Kwankwaso at the Commission’s Headquarters, saying he is responding to questions on alleged fraud following a series of petitions the EFCC received against him.
In one of such petitions, the former governor was accused of diverting N10bn meant for the payment of pensions and construction of houses.
Kwankwanso who governed Kano State between 1999-2013 and 2011-2015, was appointed the Minister of Defence after losing his election in 2013.
