Former Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has taken a swipe at Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag, for sending Jadon Sancho on loan to Premier League rivals, Chelsea.

The England winger joined the Blues on a season-long loan this summer, with Chelsea having an obligation to buy him next year.

Prior to this, the forward spent half of last season on loan at Bundesliga club, Borussia Dortmund, after falling out with Ten Hag.

However, the Dutch tactician reintegrated Sancho back into the first-team group this summer and featured him during pre-season matches.

Despite this, the England international made a deadline day switch to Chelsea, which seems to have ended his career at Old Trafford.

Reacting to the development, Klopp criticized Ten Hag’s handling of the player, wondering why he would spend £80 million on a player and then send him on loan.

He also insisted that Sancho is not “useless, adding that the former Ajax coach should have shown far more support before selling him.

“If the whole world loses trust and faith in the player, the manager has to be the one behind the player,” Klopp said.

He added, “I cannot just buy into that ‘he’s useless,’ like other clubs did by the way – buying a player for £80 million and then sending him out on loan!”
