About twenty travellers have been abducted by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers along the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode expressway on Sunday.
The assailants were said to have ambushed the travellers at about 8 pm between Sagamu Area Command of the Nigeria Police and Ilisan township.
According to sources, one of the victims, a resident of Ilisan Remo was shot in the knee but managed to escape.
Confirming the incident, the Chairman of Ilisan Development Council, Otunba Wemmy Osude said the victim was already receiving medical attention at the Babcock University Teaching Hospital.

He said: “Information reaching me right now confirmed a kidnapping incident between the Area Command and Ilisan City Gate (formerly Delabo).
“A resident of Ilisan (name unconfirmed) was reportedly shot in the knee and is receiving medical attention at Babcock Teaching Hospital. He is in stable condition.
“Other victims were taken into the bush. While waiting for additional information, please contact your loved ones who may be plying that road at about this time to be cautious”
Osude who expressed hope that the abducted individuals would be rescued said he had reported the incident to the Sagamu Area Commander.
“I have spoken to the Sagamu Area Commander about this incident, and hopefully, we trust that all the security agents will go after these criminals and rescue these people,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Police Command is yet to confirm the abduction as of the time of filing this report.
