The agitators are Senator Ibrahim Ida, Tuikur Jimkamshi, Gide Ya’Aduia, Ahmed Yar’ Adua, Kabir Barkiya, and Mohammed Khalil.

“We are here to lodge our grievances over the matter. We are calling on the party to look into our plight otherwise there will be consequences, and the fortunes of the party in the 2015 general election will be affected,” they warned at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja.

On the October 28, Shema convened a meeting of his cabinet personal aides during which he announced Musa Nashuni, a Commissioner, as the party’s governorship candidate.

Nashuni, an unknown face in Katsina, was brought into the state’s politics based on his personal relationship with Shema.

The group of six warned that members of the PDP are now in fear of losing the state to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election.

It urged the PDP national secretariat to address the matter by opening the field to all contests so that the best can be picked to retain Government House for the party.

“Katsina State is well known to be a PDP controlled state and it cannot afford to lose it to an unknown person. We urge the leadership of the party to send a fact finding committee to find out what is going on in the state,” the group said.

Protest from lawmakers denied the control of council and state structures has led the Presidency to hold meetings between them and governors to find a way out.
