Kanye West says he’ll be retiring from music soon

American rapper, Kanye West has dropped a hint that he might be retiring from professional music soon.

He, however, added that he is unsure of what to do next after quitting music. 

The ‘Ye’ coroner made this known on Tuesday during a chat with fellow US Rapper, Dimitri Leslie Roger, aka Rich the Kid.

Kanye West in the screenshot displayed on Rich The Kid’s Instagram page after the conversation wrote, “I am retiring from professional music. Not sure what else to do.”

Responding, Rich The Kid tried to persuade the rapper turned politician to shelve his plans.

He wrote, “Retire? Why? How? The people need you. The music you, TY [Dollar $ign] and we have made was the biggest stamp in culture to this date in 2024.

“Drop Ye about mine & V2 and we do it all over again. The kids need you, big bro. Fashion maybe some time to chill but retiring ain’t it.” [Sic].

The trending post on IG, however, did not disclose if Rich The Kid was able to convince the ace rapper not to quit.

Kanye West began his music career as a producer in Chicago after dropping out of college.

He gained prominence after co-producing Jay-Z’s 2001 album ‘The Blueprint’ and was later signed as an in-house producer for Roc-A-Fella Records.

In 2004, West released his debut album, ‘The College Dropout,’ which was met with critical acclaim and yielded the Billboard Hot 100-number one single ‘Slow Jamz.’

He went on to become the joint most-awarded hip-hop artist in the Grammys’ history along with Jay-Z with 24 golden gramophones.
