After Leeds United, held Newcastle United, to a 1-1 draw in the English Premier League game played on Friday night.
Saturday fixtures kicked off with new boys Brentford, defeating their host, Wolverhampton Wonderer 2-0, at the Molineux stadium in the early kick off game.
Thereafter, Liverpool, defeated London club, Crystal Palace 3-0 at Anfield. Sadio Mane scored the first goal on the 43rd minute after which Egyptian striker, Mohammed Salah, doubled their lead on 78th min.
Another African player, Naby Keita of Guinea, scored the third goal on 89th min to give the home team an unassailable lead and compound the woes of the London side.
Another London side , Arsenal, made it 2 wins in 2 after losing their first 3 games. Their only goal, was scored via a free kick on the 30th mins by club’s new acquisition, Martin Odegaard.
The Gunners, who were at the bottom of the league table after three games, moved to 12th position to give their under pressure manager, Mikel Arteta, a breather.
The defending champion, Manchester City, was surprisingly held to a 0-0 by 15th placed club, Southampton.
However, there was a mild drama during the game, as the centre referee, Jonathan Moss, withdrew a red card he gave to Man City defender, Kayl Walker, after a VAR review.
Liverpool, ended the day at the the top, with 13 points and +11 goal difference. The red half of Manchester, Manchester United, will face West Ham, tomorrow.
The biggest game of the weekend will also be played on Sunday between two London clubs, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea in what has been described as “Super Sunday”.
