A viral video on Twitter shows some women in Kaduna State rejecting the offer to participate in a counter-protest against the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
In the video, the women said they were lured with the proposal that they would be attending a political meeting called by the All Progressives Congress (APC). But upon arrival at the meeting venue, they were given placards to protest against the NLC with a promise that they would be given N2,000 each for participating.
“They told us to come for a political gathering, but when we got here we noticed something different. They didn’t tell us we were coming to do a counter-protest against the protesting workers. They said they will pay us N2,000 each,” one of the women said in the video.
While some of the women accepted the offer to march against the NLC, even though they were misled to do so, others decided to walk away.
