JTF parades 4 youths for sea piracy

A seventeen years old teenager was among three others youths paraded by the Joint Military Task Force, JTF , Operation Pulo shield, for their alleged involvement in sea piracy and other forms of criminalities in the Bayelsa waterways.

 

jtfThe suspects paraded by the outfits include Robinson Sunday (22yrs), David Mate (21yrs), Jockey Daukoru (17yrs) and 18 years old Lelegite were said to be behind most of the dangerous sea pirates attacks in the rivers.

According the Coordinator of the Joint Media Campaign, Lt. Col. Isa Ado who paraded the suspects to newsmen on behalf of the JTF Commander Major General Emmanuel Atewe, the suspects were arrested at Mbikiri and Nembe 1 communities by troops deployed at Fontua, Brass local government area of Bayelsa state.

 

He said items recovered from the suspects includes one Ak 47 riffle with registration number QQ1798, four rounds of 7.62mm special am ammunition, one G3 riffle loaded with 7.62mm NATO and one pump action gun loaded with cartridges.

 

Ado stated that the suspects before tbeir arrest were responsible for all the attacks and sea robbery activities on the Mbikiri and Nembe 1 waterways of the state.

Hear him, “These criminals take advantage of the difficult terrain and maneuver in the creeks to attack and unleash terror on their victims. However, the concerted efforts of the JTF paid off as they were arrested on Monday the 11th and the early hours of Tuesday 12th May.”

 

While calling on the people of the to key into the zero tolerance campaign against illegalities of the Commander, he urge them to always give useful information to enable the outfit track down miscreants in the Niger Delta creeks.

 

He also hope that their arrest will make the waterways safe and conducive for voyage and other economic activities in the region.

 

One of the suspect who spoke with newsmen, David Mate, alias Black Jesus, said he was arrested on Monday night by the troops at his home but said the guns and ammunition belong to one his gang member who is on the run.
