Jaypaul spoke about the emotional moment he spent with his dad before he passed away.

According to him, despite being very close to his father, he never gave him a pat on the back, meanwhile, he does compliment other people.

He also told the anchor of the program that he learned that a stitch in time saves nine, when he failed to reply to his father’s text, only to learn days later he had passed on.

He, however, took solace in the fact that he was able to say to him what he had always desired to hear from him before he passed.

” So I lost my dad in 2014. My dad is a great guy, my best friend, but even if I do all the great things in this world, he would never say to me ‘I’m proud of you, you’re amazing’ but he would say it to other people.

“But I always wanted that from him. When he passed, two days before he passed, he sent me a text message that said ‘I’m proud of you.’ I saw it and was like ‘Wetin dey sup?

“Why is my dad sending me this?’, I didn’t reply and he wasn’t in the same place with me. He was in Calabar, I was in Lagos. Two days later, he sent it on Friday, on Monday morning I got a message that my dad had passed.

“So that was a conscious awakening for me that whatever I feel for anybody, my kids, or anybody in my life, I will tell you because I don’t know what the next second may bring,” he said.

Meanwhile, during the program, Jaypaul was asked if the flower he presented to Saskay, while in the house was his first to any opposite sex, and he answered in affirmation, saying:

“Yes! In my secondary school when it is valentine’s day, I dey buy flowers, I dey buy perfume (I always buy flowers and perfume). So it is something I do. That is who I am. I’ll tell you why.”
