Nigerian Music star, Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has announced relocating to the United States with his family to start a new chapter of his life.
Banky W, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Empire Mates Entertainment revealed the move on Instagram, sharing that he will be pursuing a Master’s degree at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
Netizens however think that Banky W’s move to the US is as a result of the harsh economy of Nigeria.

There are speculations that Banky W decided to leave Nigeria following his continuous loss in the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency elections in Lagos in 2019 and 2023.
Banky W, however, debunks the speculations that he was running out of the country in search of greener pasture with an instagram post with the caption, “For the next year of earning a Master’s degree in Policy Management at Georgetown University in Washington DC Wish us well.”
Banky W shared photo of his wife, actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington, and their child at the airport. He asked his followers to send their best wishes as they embark on this new chapter.
