Jandor picks Lagos PDP guber ticket

Speaking after the declaration of tbe result, Jandor thank all the contestants and said all of them are qualified to be governor of Lagos State.

The Convener of Lagos4Lagos Movement, Abudul Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has emerged the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State.

Jandor defeated his opponent, Dakova Kolawole with 679 votes out of the 709 accredited delegates. Kolawole pulled 20 votes. 10 votes were voided.

Announcing the results, the chairman of the electoral committee, Emmanuel Ogidi, congratulated the two contestants for showing the spirit of sportsmanship.

He, therefore, announced Jandor winner of the contest having pulled the highest number of votes.

He promised to use the ticket to unite Lagos PDP to win the state for the party. He noted that he is going to carry PDP flag with pride. He noted that the ticket will produce the first independent governor of Lagos.

On his part, Kolawole thanked fellow contestants who stepped down, saying he was in the race due to his passion to rescue Lagos from the All Progressives Congress (APC). He noted that the progress was designed to favour his opponent.

He congratulated Jandor and promised to work with him for the betterment of Lagos State. He said the state desires a young candidate like Jandor.

Before the primaries, Ogidi, had announced that Deji Doherty, Ade Dosunmu, Rhodes Gbadebo and Jimi Kamal withdrew from the race.

“Out of the six contestants that bought forms for the election, four of them have willingly withdraw from the race. They have given us their letters and the reasons for their withdrawal. The beauty of it is that they have not left the party ” he said.
