Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi, is set to make history as the Nigerian with the most appearances in the English Premier League (EPL) if he plays in Fulham’s fixture against Arsenal at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

The record is currently jointly held by the versatile midfielder and former Newcastle striker, Shola Ameobi, who both have 298 appearances in the English top-flight.

Iwobi will move to the top of the appearance list should Fulham coach, Marco Silva, play him against the Gunners.

The 29-year-old Nigerian international racked up his 298 appearances for three different clubs: Arsenal, Everton, and Fulham.

He also made his Premier League debut for his first club, Arsenal, against Swansea City on October 27, 2015.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta’s side will retain their position at the top of the EPL table if they win the encounter, regardless of the outcome of the game involving Liverpool and Manchester United.

Fulham, on the other hand, could dent Arsenal’s title chances and take their tally to 11 points if they emerge as the winner.
