Okocha, Eagles’ legend while speaking on Super Sports said his nephew, Iwobi, is better suited for the playmaker role than Iheanacho.

Everton star, Alex Iwobi has collaborated with his uncle’s position that he is more suited to play the number 10 position for the Super Eagles.
Iwobi played his first game for Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon in the 3-1 victory over Sudan, where he came in for Samuel Chukwueze.
He also had a substitute appearance in the game against Guinea Bissau, where he assumed the playmaker role after Iheanacho, who had been playing the role, was substituted for him.

His uncle, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, while analysing the Eagles game against Guinea-Bissau on Super Sports criticised Eguavoen for playing Iheanacho in the playmaker role, a position he felt his nephew, Iwobi is more suited in.
At the end of the Super Eagles recovery workout on Thursday. Iwobi corroborated his uncle’s position.
He said, “My preferred position is number 10 but, however, wherever I’m told to play, I’ll give my best.”
“Of course, it is an honour to represent my country and to get maximum points, so I’m happy with the performances but we still have a long way to go.
“We use this as confidence and motivation for the next game,”
The Super Eagles are expected to play against Tunisia in the AFCON round of 16 on Sunday’ January 23, 2022.
