Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has described the recent attack from Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo on the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, as one born out of envy.

Wike stated this on Thursday during the commissioning of the Nkpolu-Oroworokwo Flyover.

The Rivers governor has been inviting opposition politicians to commissioning projects in Rivers since his feud with his party’s presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and National Chairman Iyorchia Ayu began.

Soludo recently wrote a lengthy piece where he said Obi would not win the election.

However, Wike said Soludo is envious of Obi’s growing profile in the country.

“Some people, because of the level you are now, are envying you in your state, they can come out and say all kinds of rubbish. Don’t worry, that is how it is. I have always told people ‘When you are given opportunity to serve use it to showcase what you can do stop fighting somebody who has already left,’” he said.

Wike pledged to provide “logistics support” for Obi’s campaigns.

He also said Obi, a former Anambra State governor, has all the characteristics to lead Nigeria.

“Each time you want to campaign in the state, let me know, all the logistics support, we will give to you,” the outspoken Rivers governor said.

Wike added that though he knew the humiliation Obi suffered before he left the PDP for the Labour Party, he would not leave the party.
