He said it had become necessary for the state government to liaise with the Plateau and Nasarawa governments, so as to find ways to end violent attacks on border communities.

Useni said the committee should be mandated to visit the affected communities, assess the level of damage and request for relief materials on behalf of the victims from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

The speaker also urged the executive to beef up security in the affected areas, to prevent further attacks.

Earlier, under matters of urgent public importance, Mr Ishaya Gani, representing Wukari 2, said many people had been killed, and property destroyed in the series of attacks by unknown gunmen.

According to Gani, the gunmen allegedly come through Plateau and Nasarawa states

He listed areas affected to include Fuma, Amar, Wurbo, Wuban, Sendi, Kente, Chinkai, Akwana, Dampar and Ibbi.

Mr Edward Baraya of Karimlamido urged the state government to set up a high-powered committee immediately, so as to save more lives that could be at risk.

The motion to set up the committee was moved by Gani and seconded by Abubakar Jugulde, representing Sardauna constituency.
