As the spate of insecurity in the country dangerously spiked over the weekend with the killing of 16 soldiers on Saturday by bandits in an ambush around Shimfida in Jibia local government area of Katsina State, President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday summoned the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, to a closed-door meeting at the State House, Abuja.

About 30 people were reportedly injured in the Katsina attack. On Sunday evening, scores of people were also reportedly killed in a Southern Kaduna community.

It will be recalled that Buhari, in a recent meeting with Service Chiefs and other security heads, warned that he would no longer take excuses from them.

He frowned at lack of synergy among the security heads and told them to work together to bring myriads of security challenges bedeveling the country to an halt.
