The 39-year-old talented actress disclosed this while granting an interview with a popular blogger, Stella Dimiko Korkus.

According to her, she opted for surrogacy and a donor, rather than getting married before having her child, to protect herself and her child against the drama which occurs when a man wants to take away a child from the mother.

She said: I opted for a donor for me and my baby’s peace of mind. Ideally, it should be marriage before children but we are not living in an ideal world.

” Another reason I opted for a donor is that it scares me so much when I see banter and controversies between a mother and a father over a baby in public,  I dread seeing the man insisting that he wants his child if things do not work out between both parties.

She said what she has done is to take the best option that suits her since she has the means to nurse and raise her child on her own.

” For me, it is the fear of what that would mean for the child. I am not someone who allows any situation to control me. I make lemonades out of lemons thrown my way and have no regrets. Life itself is so fragile and short to be striving for perfection.

” I am well and capable of taking care of my child as I have been taking care of myself. I wanted a child and I thank God for the options of surrogacy and donors.” lni Edo said.

The actress also corroborated the rumour that she had a child about a year ago, explaining that she had the baby through surrogacy just like her new baby.

She, however, clapped back at those chastising her for not having her daughter herself, saying it was her egg and therefore her baby, she also insisted she is the one to determine when she will carry her baby herself.

In her words:  “Yes, I do have a daughter and I had her through surrogacy. I was hoping to talk about her on her first birthday (which comes) in a few months but mischief-makers beat me to it and spoilt the beautiful story with lies.

“The eggs are mine, so genetically, she is my blood. I chose this path to fulfill my dream of becoming a mother. I still have a good number of eggs frozen in case I decide to do surrogacy again or carry my baby myself.”

She refuted the allegations of having her latest child for a married man, she explained that the man is just her friend and regretted he was dragged into the controversy.

“It is so sad that in Nigeria when a single woman is friends with a guy, it must mean to people that they are dating. Kome has been my friend for years and that’s what it is, period. He is a responsible family man and doesn’t deserve to be dragged into my motherhood story.”

The mother of two opened up that she has had broken marriages in the past, but insisted her experiences with the men did not inform her decision to opt for surrogacy.

She added that she hopes to carry her baby herself someday.

“I had a series of miscarriages in the past but that was not my reason for going this route. I still hope to carry babies in my womb in the future, God willing.”, she added.
