A staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mr. Salawu Mutiu, was nearly lynched yesterday in only the Osogbo by angry youths after it was discovered that he had doctored the governorship result of Ayedaade Local Government Area in Saturday’s governorship election.
Mutiu, who felt sobered for his untoward action while feeding questions from newsmen, admitted that he doctor has matured. but when he brought out the result sheet of the local government, it had been torned. Seeing the mutilated result sheet, the angry youths instructed him to put it together and re-arrange it one by one, but he started weeping and covering his face from being captured by the media. When asked he said. person, who directed him to take such action, he said that he was directed by his executive officer, who he referred to as Doyin Aderinoyin. He also claimed that it was his boss that called and instructed him to remove the original result sheet earlier pasted by INEC and tear it.
