Impeach Buhari, even northerners will thank you, Aisha Yesufu reacts to the abduction on Kaduna-Abuja Highway

Aisha Yesufu, the good governance activist, has advised members of the National Assembly to remove President Muhammadu from office and earn the applause of Nigerians, even Buhari’s kins.

Yesufu, in a post on social media, said the level of insecurity in Nigeria has reached an intolerable level where the National Assembly ought to act.

She queried: “What is the National Assembly doing? Impeach Buhari! The Northern people will thank you for it!”

Yesufu, a co-convener of the BringBackOurGirls Movement, has been a consistent critic of bad governance. During the Chibok abduction in 2014, she and others were at the forefront in demanding that the government of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan rescue the abducted school girls who were kidnapped by Boko Haram.

The Chibok abduction later contributed to the re-election defeat of Jonathan in the 2015 election.

Under Buhari, mass abductions in schools have become routine, with more than 20 of such cases occurring and counting.

Also, the Abuja-Kaduna Highway has been occupied by bandits. Farmlands are set ablaze routinely by terrorists whose goal is to push Nigeria into famine.

But Aisha Yesufu thinks that the impeachment of Buhari would halt the descent of Nigeria into chaos.

She wrote: “Since I heard this news of the attack and killings on Abuja-Kaduna expressway, I have not been able to do anything and I have so many deadlines to meet,” Yesufu wrote on Twitter.

“What is the National Assembly doing? Impeach Buhari! The Northern people will thank you for it! They are sick and tired of the heartless and soulless posing as Commander-in-chief.”
