Odimma Mbaise, which enjoined “all Imolites, especially Owerri Zone, to support the incumbent Governor to finish his tenure,” said doing so would be in line with the Imo Charter of Equity as proposed by Imo Elders Council.

While emphasizing that it accepts and adopts the proposed Charter, the group appealed to all politicians in Owerri Zone to do same, even it canvasses support for a governor of Mbaise extraction in 2027.

“We expect that come 2027 there will be a moral burden for Imolites in the interest of peace and natural justice to rally round and support the aspiration of Imo Governor of Mbaise extraction,” the group said in a statement sent to TheNiche.

Rising from her maiden meeting on Friday, Odimma Mbaise said after a careful and thorough deliberation on the political happenings in Imo State with particular emphasis on the political interest and survival of Mbaise nation, it came to the conclusion that Mbaise was not at “loggerheads with the Governor of Imo State.”
