It is still not clear if Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu, has been released 24 hours after armed soldiers forcefully arrested him on the busy Upper Iweka road, in Onitsha, Anambra State.
After Agu’s arrest, on October 7, he was driven to a nearby military barracks where a team of armed soldiers stood over him while he attempts to explain the legality of his action to them.
A video of Agu frantically trying to convince the soldiers that nothing in his attire portrayed him as a member of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) has gone viral on the social media.
He told the soldiers who obviously were uninterested in his explanation that: “What I am wearing is a rising sun and one day I must rise…
“I bought 10 thousands worth of bread which I was sharing to the poor,” , Agu told the soldiers who paid no attention to his chatter.
The video began with Agu in a squatting position, as if he had been serving a kind of punishment for a while. Then when perhaps one of the leaders of the soldiers approached him, he began the explanation while they led him to an office.
