Obi also countered suggestions that he lacks the needed structure to win an election, arguing that the crowd at the LP organised submit shows the assertion is false

The flag bearer of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi, has spoken about how he intends to reduce the high rate of insecurity, and poverty in Nigeria, if given the mandate to lead the country.
He identified job creation, reformative investments and shifting the nation’s economy focus from consumptive to productive mode, as the mechanisms to stop the alarming rate of insecurity and squalor facing the citizens of the country.
The former Anambra state governor, disclosed this on Thursday, August 11, via a series of tweets on his verified Twitter page after a summit organised in conjunction with Nigerian youths by the Labour Party.
Obi wrote, “After we win the 2023 elections, we intend to use the instruments of job creation and regenerative investments to drastically reduce the high incidence of insecurity and poverty, while moving the economy from the consumptive to the productive mode.
“Undoubtedly, the greatest challenge we face beyond bad leadership, is lack of elite consensus. But, let us not forget Dante Alighieri‘s admonition, that ‘The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in times of great moral crisis, maintain their neutrality.’”

He advocated less dependence on oil and the eradication of oil subsidy. He also implored the electorate to see the 2023 election as a critical one, noting that Nigeria today is vastly polarised and wrecked by divisions that run deep along religious, ethnic and regional lines.
“History must serve as a tool in our decision-making. The implosion of Nigeria has long been forecasted. Year 2023 could be a tipping point in the annals of our history. But that must not happen, even as the options before the electorate seem stark.
“Going forward, we must look for ways to move Nigeria beyond oil. We must end this criminality called ‘oil subsidy.’ Nigeria today is vastly polarised and wrecked by divisions that run deep along religious, ethnic and regional lines,” he added.
Obi also touched on the innuendos that his party lacked the structure to win, saying the number of those who attended the Youth/LP submit is an attestation that the assertion is false.
“Finally, our structure is everyone seated in this hall today! Yes, we have structure, and we are ready to move mountains to save Nigeria.” he further narrates.
