-

The Initiative for Transparent Strategy and Good Leadership, ITSGL, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, and the Acting Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, to investigate the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, Femi Fani Kayode, Uche Secondus and Olayinka Lere over comments on the recovered $13 billion.
ITSGL enjoined the IGP and the EFCC chief to invite the three persons for questioning, noting that they have facts that would help in finding out who owns the money that was recovered at Ikoyi, Lagos State.
In the petitions signed by the President of the body, Barr Chizy Enyi, and delivered to the IGP through the Rivers State Police Command and the South South, Zonal office of EFCC, Port Harcourt, yesterday, noted that only individuals who have verifiable evidence could claim knowledge of the ownership of the recovered sum of money.
Enyi stated that Secondus and others who in their various comments linked the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, to the looted fund and alleged that the building where the money was found belonged to the minister have full must be knowledge of how the money got to where it was recovered.
In petitions the group said: “Since the recovery of the money, no individual has laid claim to the ownership of the money recovered by the EFCC.
“Despite the fact that this operation by the EFCC officials was carried out without any information from the above named persons, but the above named persons in separate interviews have claimed knowledge of who owns the money.
“The above named persons alleged that the recovered money belongs to Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister of Transportation and further alleged that the building where the said money was found also belong to the same minister. “By this information, it is evident that the above named persons have the full knowledge of when the recovered money was kept, how it was kept and who kept the money, the time it was kept and the source through which the money was gotten before it got to where Ikoyi.”
