Ijaw Youths Council (IYC) has thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing Engr. Emmanuel Audu-Ohwavborua as the Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
IYC, in a statement issued in Yenagoa and signed by its National Spokesman, Comrade Ebilade Ekerefe, said the appointment of Audu-Ohwavborua from Delta State is preparatory to the impending constitution of a substantive board for the Commission, following the submission of a list of nominees to the National Assembly.
The IYC assured the newly appointed Acting MD of the youths’ support as he prepares grounds for the coming on board of a substantive leadership at the commission.

The council called on President Muhammadu Buhari to be sincere and not delay in constituting the NDDC board.
“We welcome the appointment of Engr. Dr. Emmanuel Audu-Ohwavborua, and we commend President Buhari for the timely show of commitment to the prayers of the people of the Niger Delta region. The Acting MD has been part of the Commission’s system and knows the need and challenges of the youths of the region. He is a round-peg in a round-hole,” the statement said.
