Former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, has expressed sadness over the death of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, the APC lawmaker who represented Anambra South in the Senate.
Ubah, who was also the chief executive officer of Capital Oil, reportedly died of cardiac arrest on Saturday, July 27 in London, United Kingdom.
He was said to have departed Nigeria for the United Kingdom two days earlier on July 25.
Ihedioha said in a statement made available to TheNiche on Monday that Ubah would be remembered for his philanthropy, business-oriented mindset, and investment in sports.
He said, “I received with great pain the news of the death of my dear friend, brother, and people’s representative, Sen. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah (Ebube Chukwu Uzo).

“He was a hardworking and courageous man who brought a lot of energy and vigour to the politics of Anambra State and the South East in general.
“He will be remembered for his philanthropy, entrepreneurial spirit, investment in sports, and above all, his passionate advocacy for human capital development for his people.
“As someone who easily warmed up his environment with his affable presence, the tenth senate and indeed Nigerians will miss his vibrancy and panache. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.”
In September 2022, gunmen attacked Ubah in Enugwu-Ukwu, Anambra State while he was on his way to Nnewi. At least five persons were killed including two policemen. Ubah, however, survived as he was riding in a bulletproof vehicle.
