IGP launches ‘Bail is Free’ campaign in Niger

Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, in Minna, Niger State launched its ‘‘Bail is Free’’ campaign aimed at ending prison congestion.

Also Niger State residents have advocated an improved remuneration for the police to enable it perform effectively.

At the ‘B’ Division, Paikoro Police station, Minna venue for the launch, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Kpotun Idris, said that the ‘Bail is Free’ awareness campaign was not just for the benefit of Nigerians but in demonstration of the IG’s resolve of having zero tolerance for corruption in Police Force.

In furtherance of repositioning of the Nigeria Police Force to make it more responsive to the needs of Nigerian populace, the IGP who was represented by the Force PRO, CSP Moshood Jimoh, has embarked on aggressive re-orientation among Nigerians on a new brand policing.

The IGP said, “In furtherance of the above objectives, the IGP and his Management Team have embarked on aggressive community and people-oriented engagements to bring the Nigeria Police Force closer to the people to ensure effective service delivery to all Nigerians”.

The ‘Bail is Free’ campaign to enlighten stakeholders on the new creed of the NPF which is to be launched across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, the IGP said would include all segments of the Nigerian society who are expected to report any ailing police to nearest command for disciplinary action.
