IDP campers displaced by terrorists are starving in the land of abundance

Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) everywhere in Niger are starving and desperate for food in the land of abundance, the State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) Director General Ibrahim Inga has cried out.
Their condition has become even more dire than it was in August 2021 when it was widely reported they were scavenging for spilled grains in markets.
That was the same month Muhammadu Buhari announced he has voted more than N72 billion to create ranching routes for killer Fulani herdsmen, placing cattle above human beings murdered daily in the North by Islamist terrorists.
Buhari has a N6.77 billion budget for food and travel in Aso Rock this year. Bola Tinubu on 5 April donated in Kaduna N50 million cash to the victims of the train attack on 28 March to grease his run for the Villa.
Tinubu is a member of the All Progressives Alliance (APC), the party of Buhari.
Ahmed Dangiwa, another member of the APC, also on 5 April donated several bags of different foodstuff plus N91 million cash to APC executive members at ward, council, and state levels in Katsina to win the governorship ticket.
Inga spoke about the starving IDPs when he received N27 million worth of palliatives from Niger governorship aspirant Mohammed Malagi, also a member of the APC.
Inga said insecurity has displaced thousands of people who live in IDP camps spread across the state.
The government is trying its best in taking care of IDPs, he added, but stressed that during this period, food is top of their basic needs.

Caring for IDPs
“The state alone cannot take care of the IDPs, because it is taxing. We call on individuals and organisations to partner with the government in providing food for the IDPs,” Inga said, according to The Nation.
He expressed appreciation for the donation and gave an assurance that the palliatives will be distributed to those affected by insecurity.
Malagi, represented by the Coordinating Secretary of Malagi 2023 Gubernatorial Organisation, Bala Marka, disclosed that the food items included 150 bags of rice, 150 bags of millet, 150 bags of maize and 50 gallons of vegetable oil.
He handed over the items to the Niger State government, represented by Inga, for onward distribution to IDPs.
