Nigeria international, Brown Ideye is likely to stage a return to West Bromwich Albion’s first 11 when they welcome Aston Villa to the Hawthorns in Saturday’s English Premiership showdown.
Ideye who is club’s record signing is yet to make any laudable impact since his move from Ukrainian outfit, Dynamo Kiev playing just 17 minutes in his last two appearances as a substitute with no goal to show for it.
According to manager Alan Irvine, the Nigerian has been impressive in training and could be handed reconsidered for a place in the Baggies lineup.
“He’s actually trained the best he has trained in the last couple of weeks,” Irvine told Birmingham Mail.
“That’s not in terms of his application, which has always been good, but in terms of his effectiveness.
“So he’s certainly looking more like what we would hope he would look. He has scored goals in training.
“There was a time when he was struggling to do that. And I think he is feeling a lot better about himself.”
Ideye got a brace in his side’s 5-2 win over Northampton in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Tuesday.
West Brom are currently placed 16th on the EPL log with 14 points from fifteen games.
