.Supports #EndSARS protest

President, Living Faith Church, otherwise known as Winners Chapel, David Oyedepo, has said that he warned Nigerians in 2015 not to elect President Muhammadu Buhari, while also pledging support for the ongoing #EndSARS protest in Nigeria.
Oyedepo, who during the church’s first service at its headquarters, Canaanland, Otta, Ogun State on Sunday, pointed out that Nigerians have the right to express their displeasures over issues.
The cleric was reacting to the ongoing protest by the youths on #End SARS and other issues the youths are clamouring for in the country.
He said that he had remained quiet for a while because he warned Nigerians in 2015 against the Muhammadu Buhari-led government, but they didn’t listen.
He lamented that the most gruesome season was in the present government, “where life has no value.”
According to him, the youths are out because they don’t know who is the next, “They have the right to say enough is enough.
“If those people in authority were killed when they were youths, will they be where they are today?”
On the plan to deploy soldiers, he said that it would not be nice to shoot youths who were not looting, but on a protest for their right.
“The government is faced with the youths this time. Until you push a goat to the wall, you will not know that it has teeth to bite.
“I wish the youth joined me in shouting in 2015 when I saw this coming.
“For the past five years, there have been massive killings in this nation. CAN president was beheaded with video records, and nothing was said or done about it. Killings in the church, everywhere.
“The Animal Farm of John Owel is far more civilised than what we are seeing here,” he said.
Oyedepo, however, noted that any system that has no value to human life is irrelevant, stressing that no one owns this nation more than the other.
“We all own this nation together,” he said.
He told the youths that he shared the same feelings with them.
“We share the same feelings with you. Everyone wants it to stop. We have no other country. This is the only country we have and we must protect and preserve it,” he said.
Also, he urged them to be law-abiding and respect any legitimate acts.
He urged God to forgive the nation for walking away from prophetic words.
“May God secure the destiny of their parents. Have mercy upon this nation for walking away on the prophetic words. God can not come down. He sends his prophets to speak to his people. Man is temporal, but God is eternal. No man can see the end of God. But God sees the end of all. This is the reality of the scripture in Proverbs 29:2 ‘when the wicked is on the throne, the people mourn. Nothing is working. But the good news is, judgement has come. It will fall upon all the killers in this nation ,” he said.
