“I believe in women empowerment. I believe men are still kings and women are queens. I don’t believe the woman is the king. I don’t believe a woman is a king, I believe she is a queen,” Annie said.

The statement has since divided social media with some berating her for marrying a man who has fathered many children with many women.

Dipo Oluwole, career strategist, said women should be able to choose what to believe and not coerced into feminism for the sake of it.

“Women should be able to choose.” “Women should be able to decide what they want for themselves.” Annie Idibia: “I am not a feminist.” Woke mob: “How can you say that?” “That’s why your man is this and that….,Dipo said.

Several women have come under attack recently for denouncing feminism. DJ Cuppy had been criticized for saying she does no longer understand the concept of feminism.

“I thought feminism is about standing up each other and not putting each other down,” she had said.
