The head of Premier League referees, Howard Webb, has disclosed that the use of Video Assistant Referee (VAR), could be extended to decisions on yellow cards and corner kicks.
He made this known during a recent interview with the BBC.
This comes amid the current review of VAR being carried out by the International Football Association Board (IFAB), who are regarded as football law-makers.
As it stands, VAR is only used to review goals, straight red cards, penalties and mistaken identity.

Speaking during the chat, Webb acknowledged that a wrong yellow car or corner kick could impact a game negatively.
He said, “If you are talking about yellow cards that are delivered incorrectly which could be impactful on the game, then you also have to think about wrongly not-issued yellow cards.
“I understand the impact of a wrongly awarded corner that’s clearly wrong – easy to see on video – and the impact of a wrongly issued yellow card.”
Webb added that there will be consultations “with the English game as well.”
