The Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (KTT) Presidential Campaign Organisation has said that the only way to demystify and send President Muhammadu Buhari (PMB) and his militarized All Progressive Congress (APC) government packing in 2019 was to field a more popular candidate from the north.

The KTT Presidential Campaign Organisation disclosed this during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholders’ meeting at the party secretariat in Minna, the Niger State capital.

The group pointed out that the north has enough capable hands with age, career advantage and proven acumen who has held positions in government recently that can build bridges of peace among the over 250 ethnic nationalities for Nigeria to move forward.

The KTT presidential group also lamented that Nigeria has never been polarized as it is today, saying, “Nigeria has been highly fractured hence the need for a corrupt-free candidate, very popular among the electorate in all the six geopolitical zones to succeed Buhari in 2019”.

A top member of the organisation, Malam

Haruna Saidu, said at the forum that apart from the advantage of being an incumbent which President Muhammadu Buhari is enjoying which had also given him upper hand above others in the contest for the exalted position, to legally remove him entailed the opponent being able to garner  more than 80 percent of votes in the North West geo political zone of the country.

Saidu explained: “This is because the zone has large number of registered voters than some seven or eight states put together.”

Saidu therefore urged the state delegates to vote Tanimu at the convention to end Buhari’s rule because he had shown that he can pilot the affairs of Nigeria, pointing out that, “If President Buhari wins the North West automatically he has won the presidential election because the North West has the largest number of registered voters in Nigeria”.

He therefore warned PDP delegates to the national convention where a Presidential candidate would be picked not to allow their decision to be influenced by aspirants with ‘huge money chest without credibility’.

“Delegates should vote according to their conscience, don’t allow anyone to intimidate you with money, seek for a candidate that is more popular than Buhari; a clean person with no corruption tag”, he told the stakeholders.

The group’s spokesperson also claimed that the Presidential aspirant had been investigated 19 times by both the EFCC and the ICPC and ‘nothing was found against him’. Turaki presided over N3.7 trillion programmes and handled them creditably.

Also, the Director General of the KTT Campaign organisation and former Governor of Adamawa State, Mr. Bonnie Haruna, said, “If Kabiru Tanimu Turaki was not clean he would not have joined the campaign team”, and therefore appealed to Niger State delegates to vote wisely.

Other members of the team that met with Niger State PDP stakeholders included; the former Military Administrator of Plateau and Niger states, Col. Habibu Shuaibu (rtd), and the former Minister of Niger Delta, Mr. Steven Boro.
