House of Reps member, Olubunmi Tunji Ojo empowers Okeagbe Women with cash grants

A Member of the House of Representatives, representing Akoko North Federal Constituency of Ondo State, Hon Olubunmi Tunji Ojo (BTO) has stressed that the empowerment of Nigeria women remained the only panacea against poverty in the country as he lifted Okeagbe women with cash grants.

The disbursement ceremony which was held at Okeagbe, Akoko North West Local Government Headquarters in Ondo State at Women for BTO meeting was greeted with fanfare from the elated beneficiaries and indeed many residents of the Constituency

Tunji Ojo noted that the cash grant was part of his constituency promises meant to impact positively on the lives of his people, adding “ I was elected to serve my people and as a servant of the people I have come to empower my people.”

The Lawmaker who was represented by Evangelist Olumuyiwa Asagunla, Odofin Ogboye of Afa Okeagbe noted that the gesture was aimed at reducing poverty among women in Okeagbe stressing that the provision of self-sufficient economic empowerment programmes would eliminate the tensed atmosphere in the area.

He said the empowerment project embarked upon would see hundreds of his constituents being empowered with cash grants to start their small scale business and urged those that were yet to benefit to be patience.

“My interest is to always put smiles on the faces of my people because the empowerment programme was in continuation of my constituency projects” Tunji Ojo said.

The Lawmaker however solicited support for the All Progressives Congress House of Assembly Candidate in Akoko North West Constituency 1, Hon. Bolaji Fatai Atere in the 2023 general election saying that “I am excited to have you people here as partners of development. Let’s work together even as I solicit your support to make our dream a reality.”

The leader of Women for BTO Group, Mrs Olanike Balogun who described Hon Olubunmi Tunji Ojo as ‘‘Mr. Performer” thanked him for the gesture.

“Hon Tunji Ojo’s gesture to our people was a clear indication of the fact he was elected to serve the very people who voted. We are happy with what he has done so far,” she said

Present at the occasion are APC candidate for Akoko North West Constituency 1 in next year general election, Hon Bolaji Fatai Atere, Chairman of APC in Akoko North West LG, Hon. Obanla Kehinde, Hon Aiyegbusi Festus (Abacha77), APC Ward 3 Chairman, Hon. Ojo Akeju among others..
