House Committee commends Tinubu over creation of National Sports Commission

Chairman House Committee on Sports, Honourable Kabiru Amadu has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his decision to scrap the Ministry of Sports and replacing it with the National Sports Commission, NSC.

President Tinubu on Wednesday announced the scrapping of the Ministry of Sports Development and all its roles will now be performed by the National Sports Commission.
Mr President just spoke the minds of many sports stakeholders, and we believe this is the beginning of a new chapter that will enhance the development of our Sports.

“The advantages of having a Sports Commission cannot be overemphasized because it will pave way for the right professionals to manage sports.”

In a statement issued by the Media Team of the House Committee on Sports, Hon. Kabiru Amadu, who represents Gusau/Tsafe Federal constituency of Zamfara State in the House of Representatives, said the decision of Mr President is a welcome development and one that is totally supported by the National Assembly.

“Mr President should be highly commended for this bold decision to return the sports sector to a Commission.

“This has always been the position of the House Committee on Sports that a Sports Commission is what the country needs for effective growth of the sector
