Not deterred by Lagos State government’s imposed curfew on Tuesday, hoodlums on Wednesday October 21, 2020, struck at a media outfit, Television Continental (TVC), owned by a populat Lagos politician, and other properties in the state.
They alleged that prominent politicians and government officials were behind the attack by soldiers at the Lekki Toll Gate, which claimed the lives of many #EndSARS protesters on Tuesday night.
It was the timely intervention of a group of Mobile Policemen that saved the lives of workers trapped at the TVC located in Ikosi Lagos, as the mob had started torching part of the house hosting the television station.
Meanwhile, more police stations across the state had been torched just as Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) terminals, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) head office in Marina, Igbosere Magistrates Court, Lekki Shopping Mall and many other important facilities have suffered attacks.
At the TVC, the hoodlums succeeded in setting vehicles and part of the building ablaze and were advancing in when policemen arrived the scene.
The Lagos police spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the chaos, saying, “They are attacking and looting banks and people’s properties. Even taking away cars.
“They are hoodlums and they will be treated as such. Everybody is a target. Police stations and media houses not spared. Minimum force will be applied to curtail them.”
