Hilda Baci gets N5.7m land donation for creating cooking world record

Hilda Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, has been donated a N5.7 million land in Epe, Lagos by Zealand Properties for cooking her way into the Guinness World Records (GWR) which certified her feat on Tuesday.
Estate developer Zealand Properties announced her as the latest landlady at its Yomade Heritage in Epe, delivering on its promise in May when the celebrity chef was attempting to break the world record in her cook-a-thon in Lekki, Lagos.
Hilda on Wednesday visited Zealand headquarters in Ikeja where she signed and received the document that made her an official landlady at Yomade Heritage.
After the ceremony, she disclosed she would cash in on the current price and buy one more plot of land for herself.
“I’m super excited because they were so kind to gift me a plot of land in one of their prime locations in Epe, and trust me, at the price that they are currently selling, I’d probably buy one for myself because it honestly feels like a steal,” she enthused.
Zealand Properties Managing Director Adedeji Agarawu commended Hilda for her drive and hard work, which he said made her to deserve the reward, and counselled other youths to emulate her.
“I appreciate hard work, and what you pulled out there was incredible hard work. You must have gone the extra mile and conquered a lot of fear to have achieved your feat,” Agarawu said, per Vanguard.
Hilda attempted to set a record of 100 hours, but GWR deducted almost seven hours from her final count because she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the marathon which lasted from May 11 to May 15.
Nonetheless, she surpassed the previous world record of the Longest Cooking Marathon by an individual set at 87 hours 45 minutes.

Hilda Baci in for endorsements, sponsorships for her cooking world record
After Hilda finished the race in May, she was congratulated by the previous world record holder Lata London who set the Longest Cooking Marathon time by an individual in India in 2019.

The GWR does not pay record holders for their achievement but the holder gets an official complimentary record holder certificate stating details of the record.

During her attempt, the amazing chef received Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos — Nigeria’s richest and most populous state — who went to support her giant stride at Amore Gardens in Lekki.
Other personalities who visited the competition site or spoke to her on the phone or tweeted congratulations to her include President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, then-President-elect Bola Tinubu, and then-Senate President contestant Godswill Akpabio.
All this means more fame and recognition for the new record breaker.
Hilda Baci is now a unique brand name globally.
