Her legacy continues to inspire – Ex-envoy Adesina says of mum, one year after passing
The immediate past Ambassador of Nigeria to Togo, Debo Adesina, has said the legacy left behind by his mother, the late Deaconess Esther Taiwo Ejide Adesina, continues to inspire him and others.
According to Adesina, his late mother’s life continues to inspire others one year after she departed.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Adesina, a former Editor-in-Chief and Chief Operating Officer of The Guardian newspapers, said he daily reflects on the life led by his mother which impacted her community, her church, and her children.
In his tribute, Adesina said he keeps thinking of his mother’s enduring influence on her family and on other people’s lives, describing her as a pillar of strength, discipline, and moral guidance.
Expressing deep gratitude for the values she instilled in him—values that have shaped his career in journalism and public service- the former envoy also emphasised the emotional weight of the anniversary, noting that “although a year has passed, her memory remains vivid and her legacy continues to inspire us daily.”
