He will kill NASS, Nigerians warn Tinubu against endorsing Jimoh Ibrahim’s Senate bid

Controversial businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim, has presented his senate nomination form to former Lagos Governor and presidential hopeful, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for blessing.

The once chubby Jimoh Ibrahim who is now looking gaunt is seeking the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senate ticket of Ondo South in the coming primary scheduled to hold on May 24. He wants the blessing of Tinubu to actualize his ambition. Nigerians have understandably warned Tinubu not to.  And this is why.

Jimoh Ibrahim prides himself as the corporate surgeon and the business turnaround guru who could buy off scrap companies and turn them around into profitable business concerns. He makes those claims every time he has a speaking chance. But that’s all they are – claims.

TheNews magazine once called him a  corporate virus, a man who helps struggling businesses to their early grave. Like an undertaker, he buries them with a bold face and still claims that things are going on well.

NICON Insurance, National Mirror, Newswatch Magazine, Newswatch Newspaper, Energy Filling Stations, and Nigerian Air, are just among the many businesses that got buried once the ‘corporate virus’ took over their management. And those were companies he bought by collecting at least N69.4 billion from Nigerian banks. The businesses all collapsed and he has been dodgy in paying the debt.

On Twitter, Nigerians have warned Tinubu that Jimoh Ibrahim will be bad for the senate and could even kill the place like he did most of the businesses he presided over.

@bbearers said: “Is that not the man with destructive hands? I pray he doesn’t ruin NASS!!!”

@OduObodumu said: “Man has finished ruining the companies he bought from Atiku’s privatisation exercise? NICON, Re-insurance, Air Nigeria, Nicon luxury etc, politics is next destination, easier than managing & growing those companies.”

@michaleolubayo said: “Any business he touches must moribund.”

@Ojikutumemu said: “This is a strong plea to APC members in Ondo South senatorial constituency. Please make sure this man Jimoh Ibrahim doesn’t win the primary election. The man is a serial debtor and a compulsive liar. I have worked in his company before it was a hell hole.”
