He was shining example of integrity, discipline, and service – Tambuwal mourns Christopher Kolade
Former Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal has mourned the death of former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr Christopher Kolade.
Kolade died Wednesday at the age of 92, according to his family in a statement on Thursday.
In a statement posted on his X handle, Tambuwal, who is the Senator representing Sokoto South, describes Kolade as a shining example of integrity, discipline and service.
The statement reads: “I received with deep sadness the news of the passing of elder statesman, veteran broadcaster, diplomat, and distinguished business leader, Dr. Christopher Kolade, at the age of 92.
“Dr. Kolade was a shining example of integrity, discipline, and service. In broadcasting, he set standards that nurtured generations of professionals. In business, he was a trailblazer who combined vision with character. As a diplomat and public servant, he carried Nigeria’s name with dignity and honour.
“Throughout his remarkable life, he embodied values that remain timeless, the values of hard work, humility, and unwavering commitment to the common good. His voice, both literally and figuratively, gave direction to our nation at crucial moments.
“On behalf of my family, I extend heartfelt condolences to the Kolade family, his friends, and the entire nation that he served so selflessly. May the Almighty grant him eternal rest and give his loved ones the fortitude to bear this great loss.
“Nigeria has indeed lost one of her finest, but his legacy will continue to inspire generations. Though we mourn his passing, we celebrate a life that has left indelible footprints on our nation’s path. -AWT”
