Guinness’ Every Minute Made of Black

In its promise to give football fans more exciting times, Guinness Nigeria Plc. has launched a marketing campaign tagged ‘Every Minute Made of Black’.

 

The launch took place at the CMD Ground in Magodo, Lagos, on Saturday, September 19, beginning with a novelty football match between teams from the print and electronic media. The print media team, which won the match 2-1 later squared up against ex-internationals that included Mutiu Adepoju, Ann Chiejine and Jonathan Akpoborie resulting in a 3-2 win in favour of the ex-internationals.

Activated across Nigeria, Brand Guinness Senior Brand Manager, Kunle Faloye, said the company has a great property with its broadcast sponsorship of the Barclays Premier League on DSTV and wants to leverage the opportunity to engage fans at home, bars and viewing centres by giving them a stake in the game and the chance to win great prizes.

 

“Every Minute Made of Black football consumer promotion has been conceived to reward loyal football fans and give them an intense experience that represents the bold, iconic beer. This is truly an innovative promotion, and we hope that our consumers will find it to be fun and an interesting way to watch the BPL games,” he said.

On how to participate in the promo, he explained that during the campaign period, consumers are expected to check under the crown cork of all Guinness promotional bottles for a minute between one and 90 and then text the code to a dedicated number.

 

“If the minute under your crown matches the minute a goal is scored by the selected team, then you will win N1,000 airtime instantly,” he stated.

 

There is also N250 airtime for grabs for the first 2,500 entries just for participating. Then there is the big cash reward, every entry automatically qualifies for the weekend grand draw, where 20 people will share N2 million cash reward; that is N100,000 cash each.

 

The Portfolio Marketing Manager, Guinness, Ms. Liz Ashdown, said the promotion will give millions of Nigerians the chance to get more involved with their favourite team’s matches, look forward to some exciting moments, while also winning some incredible prizes.

“Consumers who are bold enough to take a chance on their minute can win loads of free instant airtime and also take home amazing cash rewards,” she stated.
