Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has appealed to the club’s management and owners to replace injured holding midfielder, Rodri and other injured centre-backs during the January transfer window.
The English Premier League (EPL) champions finally ended their five-match winless run with a 2-0 victory over Leicester City on Sunday.
Prior to this, Guardiola’s side had won just one of their last nine Premier League games.
Despite the win, however, the Citizens sit out of Champions League places and are four points off the Premier League top four.
Ballon d’Or winner and City’s defensive midfielder, Rodri, is unlikely to play again for the Premier League champions this season.

Apart from this, centre-back, John Stones has played just two out of Man City’s last 13 matches, while another centre-back, Ruben Dias has also missed the last three games.
Speaking to Sky Sports on Sunday, Guardiola pleaded with the club hierarchy to make money available for buy players who will improve the team following the injuries.
According to him, such signings will help rejuvenate Man City and bring them back on track.
He said: “Kevin [de Bruyne] is back but we need more in the middle and the back four; we have struggled with full-backs and central defenders.
“In some positions, we need help. The squad is good; the problem is we don’t have the squad and that makes everything difficult. When we are all together, we are the team we were but with important players out for weeks and months, it’s so difficult.
“I thought central defenders would be fit all season but we have struggled—holding midfield and central defenders. We need help. The market is the market; it’s not easy; it’s expensive so we will see what the club can do.”
