Guardiola tells Man City players to prepare for ‘tough test’ against Brighton

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has warned his players against complacency, saying their Premier League clash at Brighton on Thursday night will be a “tough test”.

He made this known while briefing reporters ahead of the crucial tie against Roberto de Zerbi’s men at the Amex Stadium.

Man City have to win the encounter to have their faith in their hands and keep pace with title rivals, Arsenal and Liverpool

The champions are currently trailing the Gunners by four points and are one point behind the Reds, even though they have two outstanding fixtures.

Starting with the trip to Brighton, the Citizens must win all their remaining 6 matches to win a 4th consecutive league title. 

Speaking ahead of the consequential match, Guardiola said: “Today is one of the toughest games of the season.

“Brighton away if you put in my calendar is always one of the toughest ones for the way they play.

“My admiration for Roberto de Zerbi is growing every season. Facing his side is harder.

“They have had a lot of problems. Important players were sold. They lost Colwill, Mac Allister, Caicedo… all very important players and they have had a lot of injuries.

“They played in more competitions [but] the way they play always is there.”

Meanwhile, Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has admitted that his team can only lift the Premier League title this season if Arsenal and Man City have “bad moments”.

The 56 year old German tactician made this known after their 2-0 derby loss to Everton at Goodison Park on Wednesday night.

When asked if Liverpool can still win the title after the match, Klopp said: “Arsenal and Manchester City must have a very bad moment.
